 Nadia Buari (born November 21, 1982) is an astonishingly remarkable Ghanaian actress and TV personality.

 

 

Her acting experience hovers around Ghana and Nigeria, acting in several blockbuster movies, including; Heart of Men (2009), Forbidden Fruit (2009), Holding Hope (2010), Chelsea (2010), Single and Married (2012), and Game Plan (2015).

Nadia Buari deservedly received two nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2009.

 

 

Early Life

Nadia Buari was born in the remote town of Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana, to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother on November 21, 1982. Her parents are Sidiku Buari (father) and Hajia Buari (mother).

She has five siblings: Malik Buari, Aysha Buari, Shaida Buari, Jameel Buari, and Jeed Rogers.

 

 

Her biological father is from Lebanon. Her father divorced her mother, a beautician from Ghana named Hajia Buari. Hajia Buari later married Alhaji Sidiku Buari, who raised Nadia Buari as his child and adopted her.

Nadia Buari‘s stepfather had a lot of talents. He was not just a musician but also a producer and the president of MUSIGHA, where he worked for eight years. Later, he took up the position of vice-president of IFM (International Federation of Musicians).

 

 

She decided to follow in her stepfather’s footsteps and decided to be involved in the entertainment industry. Throughout her young school years, she participated in school dancing and drama clubs to groom her talent.

Education

Nadia Buari attended Mfantsiman Girls’ Secondary School in Ghana and then studied performing arts at the University of Ghana, where she graduated with a BFA degree.

 

 

Throughout her stay at the University of Ghana, she actively participated in drama and dance clubs.

Career

Nadia Buari premiered on Ghanaian national television with a TV series titled Games People Play in late 2005. Moreso, her first major film was titled Mummy’s Daughter, after which she starred in Beyoncé: The President’s Daughter. Her role as Beyoncé served as her major breakthrough.

She got nominated for best actress for her role in the TV series Games People Play. The Ghanian has gone on to star in as many as 50 movies, including a 2013 movie titled The Diary of Imogene Brown, which she acted and produced.

Nadia Buari switched from Ghanaian films to Nollywood films around the year 2008. However, her breakthrough role in Nollywood was in a film titled Beyoncé & Rihanna, where she played the role of Beyonce alongside Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde who played Rihanna.

 

 

Ultimately, the movie became very popular amongst Ghanaian and Nigerian audiences. Her other notable Nollywood films include Rough Rider, Beauty and the Beast, Holding Hope and Single and Married.

She is also known for co-starring in films with Nollywood renowned actor Jim Iyke, which has also received attention. Other films she’s appeared in include; The Beyoncé and Rihanna film series, Hot Romance, and Behind a Smile.

In 2013, Nadia Buari‘s efforts were rewarded with the Pan African Actress award at the annual Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA Awards) in New York City.

In addition, Nadia became an ambassador at Tablet India Limited (TIL) in the same year.

In 2014, Nadia Buari was awarded the Special Recognition Award at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. She has also been awarded for her hard work many times.

For instance, she received two prestigious nominations for “Best Actress” at the African Movie Academy award ceremony and won the “Pan African Actress” at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, which were held in New York in 2013.

Nadia Buari is not married at the moment. However, she was previously in a relationship with a famous Ghanaian football player called Michael Essien. After breaking up with him, she began dating fellow Nollywood actor Jim Iyke.

Jim Iyke proposed to her after dating her for three months. Unfortunately, the lovers went separate ways citing unreconciliable differences.
